The European Investment Bank has launched EIB Global, a new branch to spearhead development investments in the Global South. Yet the bank has a terrible track record of supporting projects which spark human rights violations while providing only negligible benefits to local communities. EIB Global must eradicate these abuses and put people above investor profits.

Im Vorfeld der Sitzung des Entwicklungsausschusses im September 2022 hat die AG Globale Verantwortung als eine von 18 zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen (Civil Society Organisations, CSOs) gemeinsame Empfehlungen an das Development Assistance Committee (DAC) unterzeichnet, in denen eine bessere Qualität und Integrität der öffentlichen Entwicklungshilfeleistungen im Zusammenhang mit den Instrumenten des privaten Sektors und den Sondererziehungsrechten gefordert werden.

Die Bertelsmann Stiftung hat kürzlich die siebte Edition des Sustainable Development Report – From Crisis to Sustainable Development: the SDGs as Roadmap to 2030 and Beyond inklusive SDG-Länderranking veröffentlicht. Der Bericht gibt einen Überblick, wie die Länder hinsichtlich der Umsetzung der Agenda 2030 und ihrer 17 Ziele für nachhaltige Entwicklung (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs) abschneiden. Zum zweiten Mal in Folge sank der Weltdurchschnitt des SDG-Index. Das heißt, dass es insgesamt keinen Fortschritt bei der Umsetzung der Agenda 2030 gab.
