Introduction to Disability-Inclusive Humanitarian Action

Licht für die Welt hat zur Entwicklung von Trainingsmodulen beigetragen (u.a. ein umfangreiches Trainingsmanual). Die Unterlagen dürfen unter Verweis auf die Reference Group verwendet werden.

  • Reference Group on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action (2022): Module topics break down and links

    Module 1: Introduction to Disability
Module 2: Introduction to IASC Guidelines
Module 3: Situating disability inclusion within the wider humanitarian landscape
Module 4: Accessibility, Universal Design and Reasonable Accommodation
Module 5: Introducing the Must Do Actions (MDAs) and the twintrack approach
Module 6: Inclusive Project Cycle Management
Module 7: Inclusive Accountability to Affected Populations

The content is relevant across different humanitarian sectors and contexts of intervention and the facilitator guide includes tips on how to contextualize it based on your audience and/or context. It hopes to be one of the catalysts for the operationalization of the IASC Guidelines on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action.

Sharing back: We are in the process to setup a repository for sector level adapted modules. Therefore, we kindly, ask any actor using the learning modules to share back with the co-leads of the DRG Working Group 1, via  any modules (PPTs and/or exercises, scenarios) that were adapted towards protection, WASH, CCCM, GBV, Child Protection, Shelter and NFIs, etc. Please, contact us via drg.workinggroup1@gmail.com. We highly welcome and encourage sharing any constructive feedback on the use of the modules with the co-leads of the DRG Working Group 1, Pauline Thivillier and Ulrike Last, using their DRG WG 1 email: drg.workinggroup1@gmail.com using the evaluation form for facilitators. Should you wish an introductory session on key pointers for using the modules, contact drg.workinggroup1@gmail.com.
