In 2023, more than 351 million people worldwide will need humanitarian assistance (OCHA, 2023). The commitment to leave no one behind requires strengthened inclusive and gender-responsive programmes as vulnerabilities increase and socio-cultural norms break down during crises and emergencies.

The workshop will look at how we can strengthen humanitarian and development interventions to be effective, safe, locally owned and leave no one behind. We will explore relevant information for gender-responsive programming through the lens of different gender mainstreaming and integration strategies and key institutional approaches.

An important theme will be how gender analysis, contextual information and knowledge of roles, cultural and social norms can influence decision-making, intervention design and programme implementation to address gender-based violence and promote social inclusion. The training will adopt a participatory methodology, use practical examples and encourage networking and sharing of experiences in order to include different perspectives and make the sessions relevant to different working contexts.

The training will take place in Hilfswerk’s conference room „Albertina“ (1st floor). Catering will be provided.
