This event will discuss what the recent European elections mean for development policies, what ways the new EU Commission might take towards addressing challenges in Europe and EU policies affecting vulnerable people in the Global South. Tanya Cox, director of CONCORD, the European Confederation of Relief and Development NGOs, will deliver a keynote speech highlighting challenges of the new EU realities for civil society, followed by a discussion with political and civil society actors on issues such as shrinking space for CSOs, funding opportunities, tackling social inequalities, political alliances etc, and a networking lunch.
