Power shapes every aspect of development and humanitarian work – who sets priorities, whose knowledge is valued, how decisions are made, and how partnerships are formed. Yet power can often feel difficult to name, uncomfortable to examine, or easy to overlook in our day-to-day practice. Global Responsibility’s online series invites participants to pause and look more closely at how power operates across the sector, within our organizations, and in ourselves.

The third session offers an opportunity to reflect on the use of the PARTOS Power Awareness Tool (PAT), a practical resource for examining decision-making dynamics in partherships, that has been introduced to participants of the second session in July 2026 (recording available upon request). Participants will exchange learnings and discuss next steps for embedding power-aware practices in partnerships.

What participants can expect to learn in this session

  • Joint reflection on the use of the PARTOS Power Awareness Tool in practice
  • Open conversation on alternative approaches to systemic change, and limitations of current efforts to shift power.
  • Target group: Staff of Austrian development and humanitarian NGOs & partner organizations, in particular those who have used or want to use the PAT. We warmly invite Austrian NGOs to share this invitation with their partner organizations.
